The Latin root word for the word resonant means echo. For a singer, resonance means using the natural hollow spaces of your body – nose, sinus, throat and upper chest cavities – to amplify the vibrations created by your vocal cords.
In this video, Jeannie Deva uses an odd, but simple exercise called the Nose Buzz to help you direct your vocal vibrations into these natural body cavities.

Your video didn’t play for me. I tried every trick I could think of, but it wouldn’t play. What’s up?
Hi Ginny, not sure what the problem is. It plays fine using the Edge and Chrome browsers. You can view it on Jeannie’s YouTube channel at this URL. https://youtu.be/uWqoXM4o0CI
Thank you! This is very effective and completely healthy. No strain on the vocal cords. Also brings awareness to the breath flow through the open throat. As Jeannie suggested, do this slowly.
Thanks, Nancy.
